Winter sea (last part)

While the mandarins are at maximum ripeness,
and mimosa trees show off the best robe and colored there, me and Peter are preparing to leave this earth,
sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, but rich in spectacular scenery.
greet a region I learned to love
in a new season for me.
Liguria I remain in my heart.

Genoa, complicated, dai mille volti,

       un po' strana, un po' stonata, ma anche schietta e sincera.

Arenzano, che ricorderò con infinita dolcezza.

Diano Marina con la sua spiaggia dorata.

Imperia, bella città vista dall'alto di una terrazza

Sanremo, once a rich and sumptuous,

now complains of a crisis affecting

its main symbols: the flowers and tourism.

Saluto le paperelle che ogni mattina guardavo dal
ponticello del torrente che risaliva il monte.

Saluto con particolare affetto il "vecchio lupo di mare".
Ogni mattina, dopo che i pescatori rientravano in porto con il pesce,
lui aspettava, tra la folla di persone, il  suo turno,
per avere la razione due, in a composed, polite and patient.
